Diffusing Anger and Managing Student Non-Compliance:

The Purpose of this staff development program is to provide school educators with safe strategies for responding to and diffusing potentially serious problem behavior. The one hour program will take staff through six vignette studies in the classroom that have a direct effect on the teacher being able to teach starting off with student off-task behavior and elevating to response of crisis behavior. (The workshop can be scheduled 1-2 hours)

Agenda Format:

• Opening introduction on how schools can no longer claim with certainty that they are safe places for learning.
• DVD presentation by Geoff Colvin Ph.D.
• Discussion of local situations and group breakout to answer discussion questions recalling vignette’s in the DVD
